Puppy Socialiser - Scotland
Do you live within 40 minutes of Perth, Scotland? We need caring people in happy homes to look after and socialise our puppies and young adult dogs up to 18 months old. We are training our assistance dogs to accompany clients and alert to their medical conditions wherever they need to go so this early training is essential to ensure our dogs are happy and comfortable in all sorts of environments from shops to cafés and hospitals to buses. This is a big commitment as the dog would live with you full time for a number of months or longer but extremely rewarding as you see their progress and play a vital role in their future life-saving career.
What does the role involve? We need you to love and take care of our dog whilst following our positive dog training methods. You would communicate regularly with your dog trainers and attend training classes every 2 weeks. We would ask you to take your dog to lots of different environments and use various forms of transport to socialise the dog in your care so you will need a driving licence and access to a vehicle. You would need to keep very focussed on the ultimate role of the dog who will eventually move on to be an assistance dog.
